Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Mashy website, restaurant demo requests and the Mashy pay-at-table experience. Mashy is operated by Fast Labs Technology.
Restaurants and payment providers also handle information for their own services. Their privacy policies apply to that processing; this policy explains Mashy’s role.
Information we collect
We receive information you submit, information needed to display and settle a restaurant bill, and technical information generated when you use the service.
- Demo requests and support: your name, mobile number, restaurant name, language and any other details you choose to share with us. The website demo form requires only name, mobile number and restaurant name.
- Bills and payments: restaurant and table details, bill items and amounts, selected shares, tips, service fees, transaction references, payment status and payment information returned by the provider.
- Session information: identifiers used to associate your browser with a dining session or bill-splitting participant.
- Website measurement: a referring-source category, marketing-source category, landing-page path and events such as opening the sample bill or starting the demo form, where measurement is enabled.
- Technical information: information such as IP address, browser details, request timestamps and error reports used to operate and troubleshoot the service.
How we use information
Where applicable law requires consent for a particular use, that use must be based on the required consent. Other processing may be needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations or operate and protect it, subject to applicable law.
- Display the correct table bill, calculate your selected share and record payment results.
- Respond to demo requests, questions and support needs using the contact details you provide.
- Maintain the service, diagnose errors and help investigate suspected misuse or payment issues.
- Understand which sources lead visitors to Mashy and whether they open the demo or start a request.
- Keep records needed for applicable legal, accounting or dispute-handling obligations.
Restaurants and payment providers
Mashy connects the guest’s bill and payment activity with the restaurant’s dining session. Restaurant staff can access information needed to manage the table and confirm what has been paid.
Card details are entered in the payment provider’s checkout. Mashy uses Paymob for payment processing and receives transaction references, amounts, status and provider-returned payment information. Paymob’s own privacy terms apply to its handling of payment details.
Ask the restaurant about information it collects directly and about corrections to its bill. Contact Mashy for questions about the Mashy interface or records.
When information is shared
Information is disclosed where needed for the purposes described in this policy.
Service providers may process information in a country other than the one where you use Mashy. Contact us if you need details about the providers or processing relevant to your information.
- With the relevant restaurant and payment provider to process and reconcile the bill and payment.
- With service providers supporting hosting, communications, technical monitoring and other operations, where their work requires it.
- Where required by law, to respond to a lawful request, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Cookies and website measurement
Mashy uses session cookies and browser-session identifiers for functions such as maintaining a guest session and protecting form submissions. Restricting these in your browser may affect those functions.
To understand how visitors find Mashy and use its demo, we carry the referring-source information between Mashy pages and record it with relevant events or a demo request. These measurement records contain source categories and the landing-page path, rather than the full referring URL or an advertising click identifier.
Mashy disables this website conversion measurement when it detects Global Privacy Control or a Do Not Track signal. You can still request a demo. Necessary session handling, payment processing and operational logging continue.
Retention and security
We retain information as needed for the service, support, payment reconciliation and applicable legal or accounting obligations. The period depends on the type of record and the reason it is held. Contact us to ask about the records associated with you.
Mashy uses HTTPS to protect information in transit. Access controls and other technical measures help protect the service, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Do not share passwords or complete card details in a support message.
Requests about your information
You can contact us to ask about access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate details, or deletion. You may also ask about restrictions, objections or withdrawing consent where those rights apply under applicable law.
We may need to verify your identity before handling a request. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve a transaction or dispute. We will explain any relevant limitation when responding.
For information held independently by a restaurant or payment provider, contact that organisation directly. You may raise a concern with the relevant authority where applicable law provides that right.
Children
Mashy is not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to Mashy, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or its handling of information changes. The date above identifies the current version. Review this page when using Mashy, and contact us if you have questions about a change.
